I'm baaaaaack!

Well, not that I went anywhere, really, but with a trainee hovering over my every keystroke for the last 6 weeks...

Anywho. The diet is still going well. As of last night I'm down 40.6 lbs. *huge grin* Still have a ways to go, but hey, it feels pretty damned good. My mom and sis are still at it too. I saw them both at Thanksgiving and they look FABULOUS! We are gonna be one SEXEH wedding party!

Finances are tight, as per usual, and I really do need to pick up a part-time job soon. I haven't looked for a job in YEARS, though and I'm not sure I even remember where to start. :/ But with the upcoming trip to Texas in March and A's wedding in September, I need to build up a litle cushion. I've had some ideas for crafty stuff to sell, but I just don't see that as being steady enough.

Who's got two thumbs and needs a sugar daddy? This girl! LOL!

Just kidding... sort of... *snerk*

How BAD can a movie get?

  • Dec. 2nd, 2009 at 8:40 PM
Well let me tell you...

As many here know, I spend some time on Facebook these days, and was "lucky" enough to be given two free passes to a movie for this evening from a group I'd signed up with. I was excited, for I generally win very little, so I asked a buddy to with me. He and his wife have generally been very kind to my wife and I, taking us to many free films in the past, so I thought for once, I could reciprocate...

The movie in question...TRANSYLMANIA.

Now, it is a rarity when I do anything untoward during a film...so after 18 minutes of this ridiculous, badly acted, juvenile piece of $**t, my friend and I kindly left our free film, never to return. This thing was so bad, I wouldn't make OSAMA BIN LADEN watch it at Quantanamo, I wouldn't make Jehova's Witnesses watch this just to break them; jeez, even Satan probably took one look at this thing and said "Nope, I ain't goin' there!" out of sheer TASTE on his part!!!

As if that wasn't bad enough, one of the attendees was a mother who, for some unknown and perverse reason, brought her 10 YEAR OLD to the screening, ordering him to cover his eyes when the bits of gratuitous nudity and sex ( and yes, it took THAT SHORT of a time for it to show up in the film,) appeared. This, coupled with the horrible movie, made my friend and I depart in haste. I felt bad and apologized up and down; I now owe him a GOOD film...maybe I can get him a copy of "Ishtar"?

Even the giveaway stuff was bad; they were giving away hats, okay? The hats had on the front, embroidered under a fake pair of vampire bite marks dripping with blood, the tagline "College Students, the other white meat". I got my hat, and gave it away, because if I wore it, I'd be on America's Most Wanted under the "predator" section almost instantly!!!

I can say this, I can hardly wait for the DVD to come out...I need a skeet shooting target, or a coaster. My buddy, he said he wouldn't use it as a coaster...HE WOULDN'T WANT IT ON THE TABLE WHERE ANYONE COULD SEE IT!!!! (He said he'd use it to prop up a table leg, where it would be most useful.)

In other words people, don't waste money, or if you do, get this as a gag gift...or for someone you hate.

bye now!

Turkey Days and SteamPunk Dungeons...

Firstly, Happy Thanksgiving to all out there who celebrate it; I'm thankful this year for my wonderful Wife, my family and my friends, treasures all.

Secondly, I finally broke down and bought a new game to replace the late Dungeon Runners, and I am not disappointed. Torchlight is a great game modeled after Diablo with a bit of Steampunk thrown in for a memorable dungeon crawl. It's a single player PC game that is a load of fun and I really like it. Check it out here: http://www.torchlightgame.com/
